GHG emissions in the UK
Carbon Emission
Ploughing leads to loosening of the soil leaving it lifeless as inversion leads to oxidation of organic bacteria in the soil that provide it its fertility. We are digging deeper and deeper as we continue to lose massive amounts of fertile soil every year.
Methane Emision
Poor waste management of animal excreta leads to emission of high levels of Methane which further contributes to the Green House Gas (GHG).
Nitrogen Emission
Intensive agriculture renders soil lifeless harvest after harvest. To counter this, farmers need to input heavy amounts of fertilizers that end up in our food as well end up polluting waterbodies.

Green house gases emissions haven't decreased over the the period between 1990 and 2017. In addition the methane emission over the whole period was about the sum of both carbon dioxide and nitrogen dioxide emissions combined.

Analysing the type of agriculture which are most intense in east england we have deduced that the combinable & sugar beet are the most produced but in all counties except Norfolk. However,Norfolk alone has the two other agricultural typologies which are Veg. Hort & potatoes in one said and on the other side the pigs and ploutry. These two types produce more then the one common type in all other counties and thus we can prove the claim that Norfolk is most intnense county in term of agricultural output. That why we will be focusing on Norfolk to reduce the impact of intense farming.
